Hippy Fair!

Yesterday my parents took me to Folk Life Festival, otherwise known as hippy fair around here. There were a lot of dogs to wave at, music to dance to, and people to smile at.

When we got home, my mom decided to give me a bath before bedtime but I was not happy about the bath. I kept signing all done but everyone just kept laughing saying how cute I am.

Today was very eventful. I went on my first hike to Twin Falls State Park outside of Seattle. I had a good time smiling at all the people and dogs. Then I went to my friend Beija's birthday party. She is now 2 years old. After that I went to my first art show. The artist is a potter that my mom likes. His name is Sequoia Miller and he is a friend of my mom's friend. Everyone commented on my nice wrinkled-nose smile.

Another thing that was exciting about today was that I was able to sign potty independently and then use the toilet consistently all day. I am very close to being potty-trained!

Mole!

Today I had chicken mole for the first time. It was yummy! I especially liked getting the mole sauce all over my face and hands and then I got to wipe it on my mom.

These feet were made for walking!

I started walking across the room by myself today! I was able to walk across the room to get a cracker then turn around and walk back to give my mom a hug!

America's next top model

Today I became a star. Actually, I just got the star treatment when I did my first baby modeling gig at Macy's. I modeled a Carter's pink bathrobe with a cute whale on it. Look for my picture in the August mailer from Macy's!

Airplane!

I like airplanes now. When I hear them fly overhead, I make the airplane sign and mimic the airplane sounds.

Spring Cleaning!

This week I discovered a new toy--the vacuum cleaner! I can push it around like a Tonka truck. I also like it when the fan on the vacuum blows on my face. I even discovered how to turn it on by myself! My parents said, "If only she could vacuum up all the cheerio crumbs she's dropped."

This week I became a 7 year old. I started making farting noises, which my parents think I learned from my friend Emma, who is 2 1/2. I like to make the noises and laugh at myself.

Uh-oh!

Here is a new word I am saying a lot:Uh-oh! I like to throw food off of my highchair and then say my new favorite word! Some other new words I have are "pasta", "Xie zi"(shoes in Chinese), and "potty". I am starting to let people know when I need to use the loo by signing and saying potty! I am a little genius!

Happy Mother's Day!

Yay! Hooray for moms!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms I know. My mom tells me all the time that she feels lucky to have such a happy baby like me, but I think I am the lucky one to have a mom who is grateful to have me.

Rice, Rice, Baby

Here I am eating broccoli and rice and rubbing it in my face and my hair. Mmmm, good!

Anja Lasagna

Today I ate dinner in the backyard with my parents. I got a sugar high after dinner and kept climbing in and out of my chair while chatting up a storm.

We are eating under the apple tree in the backyard. I have tomato sauce all over my face and I am pointing at a bird flying overhead.



My friend Emma, who is 2 1/2 years old, just gave me a new nickname. It's Anja Lasagna! She used to call me Baby Anja but I think it was time for a change.

I am climbing all over the place! Here I am climbing into the kitchen island.

Cinco de Mayo

May 5th is my unofficial birthday. I was supposed to come out on Cinco de Mayo, which is also Children's Day in Asia. Instead, I came out on April Fool's day. Today we had a little celebration with cakes and strawberries. I loved strawberries.


I have acquired another new word and that is "Bubble"! Life is full of fun things to learn!

Raining Diapers

I'm walking!!

Today I took my first steps! I have been standing for a while but have not been steady enough to take a step until today. It was one small step for Baby Anja but one giant leap for babykind. The world IS my oyster!
